Fairbanks Police are investigating a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital with multiple wounds Saturday.
The unidentified victim reported he was stabbed after an altercation on the Wendall Street Bridge involving 3 Native Alaskans.
A police report says he was approached for a cigarette and when he ignored the request he was punched, a fight broke out, and during that fight he was stabbed in the face, arms, chest, and hands.
He was able to free himself from the altercation; a passerby picked him up and took him to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Police say he did not want to file an official report but hospital procedures required them to notify authorities.
