Teens arrested in string of thefts and attempted burglary

FAIRBANKS- Four teens have been taken into custody in connection to a string of thefts in the Fairbanks area.

The teens - ages 15, 16, and 17 - were taken to Fairbanks Youth Facility; however, 18-year-old Samuel Thompson (the only adult in the group) was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Facility and charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief.

A press release sent out by the Fairbanks Police Department stated the thefts were reported early this morning (8/19) by individuals at the Sophie Station Suites.

They reported that numerous cars had been gone through in the parking lot; then as police were on their way to investigate, another burglary was reported at Midas Muffler.

It was during the subsequent investigation that the four teens were spotted, and a search revealed that they possessed numerous items which were stolen.

Police are asking that anyone who believes they have been a victim of theft around that area to contact them at 450-6500.
