Last night the Monroe Rams hosted the Delta Junction Huskies in an Aurora Conference Showdown. The girls took the court first. The Rams trailed by five at the half but they stormed back in the second half. The Rams pulled away down the stretch and won the game 57-41. Hayley Michel led them in scoring with 18 points and Savannah Mapp put up 17. In the boy's game, Monroe had control for the majority of the game. Four players scored in double figures for the Rams, led by Divon Davis with 20. The Rams win 67-51. The Rams remain unbeaten on the season with their 20th win on the year.
They are 8-0 in conference play. West Valley and North Pole also played last night. In the girl's game, the Wolfpack ran away with this one. They get a big win. 64 -22. Sierra Tate scored 16 points to lead West Valley and Hayli Blakenship led the Patriots with nine. After that game the boy's teams took to the court. The Wolfpack also got the win in this game. 59-49. Cornelius Mingo Jr led the them with 26 points. Taylor DeAngelis led the Patriots with 18. The Wolfpack improves to 12-7 and they are 4-0 in the MAC. West Valley will make the short trip to Lathrop tomorrow for a conference match up. The Monroe boys team is off until late next week but the girls head out on the road for the Lady Grizzly Classic at Grace Christian in Anchorage.
